Just curious about scopes and if some of our issues are caused by a scope "gone wrong.?" I had a scope about 5 years ago and my doc ran into a stricture where the stoma had been. I was in AGONY, I mean the worst pain I've ever felt after. My doc. told me that he pushed it a little too hard and a bleed may have caused the pain. Since then, the that spot has never been the same. I ended up in the hospital in 2012 for 19 days with a fistula and and eventual Crohn's diagnosis (eventhough NO pathology or blood work proved Crohn's.) I've been on Remicade every 9 weeks since then, and honestly, I don't feel much different on the last day than on the day of my infusion. I am very frustated. The docs. (GI and Colorectal are not willing to take me off the Remicade. I've communicated with Jan about this a couple of times. I'm also on 1000 mg. of Cipro daily. She commented that perhaps it is the Cipro and not the Remicade that has kept things quiet. Any advice or comment would be appreciated.

I am trying to get my son off humira and methotextrate. He is also on antibiotics chronically at this time which I think is what helps along with strict diet. We have started to taper the humira by going longer between shots. With both remicade and humira you can test the level - and with my son he had such a high level -- the doctor agreed to let us space out the shots a little more which is moving towards tapering off I hope. Maybe you should get a second opinion from someone at a different hospital. There is a risk of going off that antibodies will build up and if the drugs are needed again - they will not work.
