Hi Everyone,
It's been awhile since posting but wanted to share my experience. I had the j-pouch for ulcerative colitis and high-grade dysplasia about 5 years ago. It's mostly been a good experience with the usual uncomfortable and sometimes painful bouts of pouchitis, fissures, and gas. I had what I thought to be a fissure...incredibly painful when emptying the pouch. I tried Savlon off of Amazon, which was shipped from the U.K.
I have to say it is probably the best healing cream I've tried so far. Cleared things up within a few days. I am so happy with this product; it's a shame it isn't more readily available in the U.S.
If you've tried Calmoseptine, petroleum jelly, Hydophor, tucks, Nupercainal, Nitro, or other remedies, you may want to give the Savlon a try. It worked very well for me. Hope this testament can help solve some of the anguish that I know most of us fellow j-pouchers endure on occasion.
