Salt water pool-- ok or will it burn? | The J-Pouch Group

Moving to an rv park that has a salt water pool? Will it be ok or will it burn because my tissue is still torn up? Want to try so badly but afraid. And also, river water ok or too dirty?

I had no issues in a salt water pool, or the ocean, for that matter. In fact, things felt better. Perhaps more drying.

I have a fistula with seton and kayaked the back waters of Puerto Rico to see the bio bay with my surgeon's blessing. If you have a pretty much intact anus and no wounds, doubt there'd be an issue; I had none with a fistula.

I have never had a problem with my stoma and salt water nor going into the sea post op once my scars were healed...some say that it helps healing (in spite of all of the contaminants in it?).

If it does burn, get out, rince off and you will be fine.

Second and third that. Salt water is indicated often to heal!

I have a salt water pool and never had issues. Also been in the ocean and never an issue. In fact I actually think it helps the butt burn slightly.
