If you have ever had a 'hot' gallbladder or gallstones then you know the pain...feels like a punch in the gut, just under the ribs on the right side...it grabs me at the strangest times...no pattern, before a meal, during, after or in the middle of the day...sometimes it feels like I have been knifed in the gut...there is no burning, heartburn or anything like that...The problem is...I do not have my gallbladder any longer...they took it out 3+yrs ago...Very enlarged and hot and full of bile but it is gone...so why is the pain still there?
At school, I am doubled over...I try to release my jeans or twist my back, sit up straiter, lean back...But nothing helps.
I thought that it was possibly gastritis...so they put me on Omophral but that doesn't help...I am back on the dreaded NSAIDs but without them, I cannot walk or sleep...or turn over in my bed.
Not sure what this is...it started just after the gallbladder surgery but eased up after a while...now it is starting to remind me of those pre-pouch days. Like chronic gastro without the chronic diarrhea...
Ideas? I am loath to start going through all of those tests...unless I am sure that it is "something".
