Remzi redo and h pouch?

My son went for a jpouch redo today with Dr Remzi. Remzi couldn’t do a new J pouch because there wasn’t enough slack. He almost gave up and was going to give him permanent ostomy. But he was able to construct an upside down lower case h pouch. He only did this on 6 other people out of the thousands he operated on. He said 5 of the six are doing well. He wanted to give him a chance at not having to have a permanent ostomy. He was very happy with the outcome. I’m not sure how I feel. Nervous and anxious for sure. One day at a time.

It’s never ideal to be an “interesting case,” but he’s in the right hands. I hope he has a great result!
