Remove Diseased J-Pouch - with no Barbie Butt?

My daughter may need to have diseased j-pouch removed. She has been diverted with loop ileostomy.

We need a second opinion as our surgeon is recommending (1) j-pouch redo or (2) “Barbie Butt”.

Is there another “interim” phase that anyone has ever heard of? To allow the possibility of another j-pouch “someday” and just get rid of pouch which is causing stricture after stricture. She is missing a lot of school. And life.

Surgeon recommendations please!

Yes.

I had my pouch removed and left everything intact down there. They or she sewed it up from the inside.

She said she did it just for the reason you are looking for.

To have another made in the future if I wanted one.

So yes.

It can be done.
