hola!

Since my takedown 6 weeks ago I've been on an almost daily cycle. As the frequency of my bms increases during the day, as does the discomfort/pain during the wiping of my bms.

Yesterday (don't ask me why I did this!) i stood with a mirror behind me a pulled my but cheeks apart for an inspection. The entire 'crack' or area between my cheek looked bright red - almost sunburnt. Very painful Frowner I assume this is the irritation / but burn associated with frequent movements.

I use calmospetine like a trooper and take 8ximodium and fiber 4x a day.

Any ideas? I'd perfer to live without a bidet (due to it not being anywhere other than my home), but I accept I may need to get it if things dont improve.

Salmak I feel ya! Mine is exactly the same. My doc told me to use an anti fungal cream 3 times a day but hasn't done much yet. He said I have thrush.

Jan - so we shouldn't be using any type of barrier cream? do you know why? I use calmoseptine between the hours Im not using the anti fungal cream because I was only told to use thrice a day, and I NEED some sort of cream there if Im not using the anti f cream.
My doctor wrote a scrip for a compounding pharmacy mix calmoseptine with an anti fungal cream just to ease my paranoia about it because at takedown I had a horrible fungal infection around my stoma and was terrified it would migrate.

He said not to be surprised if the compounding pharmacy said no, but they did it.

I never did have a fungal infection in the rectal area, but I did have a horrible rash from using soap to wash after every BM. You aren't using soap, are you?
