Recurring UTIs due to RV fistula

Has anyone here ever had a UTI that doesn't go away even while on strong antibiotics because of an RV fistula? I've been struggling with this for weeks and no resolve. My urologist wants me to have surgery to repair the fistula but I'm not sure that there is even a guarantee for the fistula to stay closed permanently. Does anyone have any other suggestions to get the fistula and UTI under control?

You may have a fistula to the bladder or ureter, not just an R/V fistula. Have you had an MRI to see?

Yeah, I had all sorts of tests and don't have a pouch bladder fistula. Whenever the RV fistula closes, no issues but whenever it opens, I have UTI after UTI.
