I've had 2 repairs done. The first one was awful as they did a martius flap graft but the second was a piece of cake and thanks goodness I've never had a reoccurance and could proceed with my takedown. But my surgeon keeps a close eye on it every return visit.
I've had one for over 4 years, with a seton in for 3 years now. As Gin noted, a search will turn up quite a bit of info - I myself probably posted more over the years than necessary!
Madi78, what was the second procedure that worked for you, and where did you have it done, if I may ask?
I also have an RV fistula, for about 8 years now. My pouch is 19 years old. I think I am one of the very few that has no seton, and has never attempted a repair. Since my pouch is otherwise (usually) extremely well behaved, I put up with the inconvenience (and what-not) regarding the fistula.
