First of all, have you been to your GI and/or GYN doctors? Anytime you have a significant change in your function and pain level, you need to be evaluated. There are a number of complications that can cause these symptoms from simple pouchitis, to abscess, to rectovaginal fistula.
It use to be that easy, running to the dr. Every time I had pain. I don't have insurance anymore and I can't pay for the services. Of course I will go to the ER if I ever can't get my symptoms under control, let it be bleeding, inflammation, pain etc... This disease has eaten up all my savings and now I have so many medical bills I can't pay.
Thanks, I hope to get some insight from someone who has experienced the same or similar issues.
Sorry to hear this, but with the symptoms you describe, I think you need to be examined and at the very least, need antibiotics. Otherwise, the only options you have are to limit your diet and soak in a warm tub. You might get some relief with OTC things like Pepto Bismol and/or probiotics, but this sounds fairly severe.
That is a good idea. He may prescribe some antibiotics for you based on symptoms (with the promise that you come in for an exam if they are ineffective or your symptoms worsen). It would be a good way to determine if this is just pouchitis that is responsive to antibiotics. I doubt he would prescribe long term without seeing you though.
Cuffitis is less likely if there is no bleeding (although it is possible).
I had rectal and vaginal pain. I had nerve damage that caused the vaginal pain and getting the inflammation under control and getting my fistula healed up helped. I have been going to a physical therapist for the pelvic pain and between humira and the PT it is a lot better. But first you have to figure out the cause.
