I had my jpouch put in 1997. Have had no problems until this year. Started with tailbone pain. Had a virtual  gastro appt (new thing) and she put me in mesalmaine suppositories. Been on them since March 10. Now the pain I have is when I go. It feels like I’m constipated and very little comes out. If I strain too hard I see a small amount of blood. Can not get a scope until Aug 20. Did see a rectal surgeon because they could actual see me. She said the rectum looked good but at the point where the rectum hits the pouch she said looked irritated as well as the very beginning. Seems like where the suppository doesn’t sit. Anybody have advise? I feel totally fine other then when I try to go.

The have been many posts here about difficulty emptying the pouch, and about painful defecation. The search function will let you tap into years of thinking about this and get you to consider and report things like 1) is the stool hard or soft?, 2) are you drinking enough water?, 3) does your pouch seem to be empty after the very little comes out? You’ll also find lists of explanations to consider.

I had J pouch in 2011. I have rectum pain almost 24/7. I have to sleep sitting up. Pain meds doesn’t help the pain when it’s the worst. It burns and spasms right up inside rectum. I cry and cry it hurts so bad. I Stan in shower and hold shower and run water on me to wash my rectum clean. This helps if I dry and go straight to bed and pray I don’t have to get up. I take cipro morning and night just to be able to endure this pain and life. Anyone else have these symptoms?
