Recommendations for experienced J-Pouch G/I specialist in Seattle, Cleveland, Florida or St. Louis

Hi,

There have been J-Pouch specialists in Seattle in the past, but they retired or moved to NYC or elsewhere. Ideally, I would find a G/I doc with extensive J-pouch knowledge close to Seattle, but if not in Seattle, I am willing to travel. I have family in St. Louis and Florida (Miami, the Keys, Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter) so maybe a specialist at one of the Cleveland Clinics in Florida? Or, I could stay in a hotel and go to the mecca of J-Pouch care - Cleveland. If so, any recommendations there?

I am waiting on a diagnostic report to see if I will need a surgeon (hopefully not) but I will always need a G/I doc who is knowledgeable about the J-Pouch adventure.

I do not have direct experience with this doctor. I just know she worked with Steven Medwell, the crème de la crème of J-Pouch surgeons in Seattle. Her name is Laura Gladstone and she is at Optus, Northgate Plaza. Google “Seattle best doctors.” Seattle Met and Seattle Magazine publish top doctors for every year. If I am correct, they get recommendations from other doctors. Of course, don’t base your whole choice on this. It is a beginning.

I found my GI doc through the magazines. Her name is Diane Bai and she is in Tacoma. Her name was in the magazines every year so I gave her a try. She is amazing.
