So when one with FAP like myself who Has had polyps at the anastomosis, as I did and undergoes on 4/17/24 a mucosectomy via TAMIS dies this procedure remove the anastomosis polyps when my surgeon also moved the pouch down lower in anal canal and them had sew the pouch to anus?
So does removing the anal transitional zone /atz take away the polyps not just the cuff with associated polyps which was done during 4/17/24 mucosectomy
i know my cuff was extra long the stump was 5cm as per surgeons pathology report but id like to know during mucosectomy transanally if the anastomosis polyps were addressed where surgeon lowered the pouch in anal canal as moved it ti had sew it
Do I still have the anastomosis polyps if the surgeon cut out the rectal cuff using Tami’s minimally invasive surgery thru the butthole
my next pouchoscopy and first one since rectum removal/mucosectomy is 10/10/24
I’m 6 mo post transanal mucosectomy on October 17th foorthcoming
my pouch will be 23 years old
i was told with age of pouch can come increased polyp burden
