Hi, has anyone on here ever had any issues with reactive hypoglycaemia?, been having some funny spells lately,  and to be honest because of the pouch I’ve had anemia on and off for years so put feeling not right down to that, but this time I know I’m not anaemic, had the regular h1bca done and it’s fine so ruled out diabetes, felt like my energy crashed after eating so did a finger prick test and was about 3.5, since then I’ve been keeping an eye on it and noticed that when I eat my body seems to clear the glucose out of my blood quite quickly and constantly goes below the normal range. I have read this is more common in people who have had abdominal surgery and wondered has anyone else experienced this and what you did to deal with it.
Thanks for any feed back Daniel

I myself suffered from that same exact thing! There are two possibilities. One, you could have a tumor on your pancreas and that could be causing you to secrete too much insulin- one way to get tested for that tumor is to be admitted to the hospital by a endocrinologist and they run tests on the blood when the blood sugar drops below 55 and they can test for the tumor.

2nd possibility: if you were overweight or use to overeat often, the body is use to making too much insulin and it became routine for the body to do so. Maybe now you are eating less carbs but the body is thinking to secrete extra insulin due to the previous routine. For this possible issue, only time will fix that issue and watching your carbs and try to stick to the same number of carbs with each meal on a daily basis, although cheat meals will be okay from time to time. The body will eventually get use to that routine.
