I completed my takedown surgery in February 2018 after a 3-step process. Last night, I started experiencing sharp pain in my abdomen between my belly button and my sternum. The pain extends around my lower back and is fairly severe. I've taken Tylenol and Hyoscyamine but it isn't touching the pain and discomfort. Hard to explain exactly what it feels like - but more of a throbbing, cramping, pressure pain than anything.

I also noticed a bit of blood in my stool for the first time post-takedown last night. Any thoughts on what may be causing this so suddenly? Haven't had any other issues to date.

You could have a peptic ulcer, or gall bladder issues, unrelated to the pouch. It doesn’t sound heart-related, but if you have any doubt about that it should be ruled out. If it’s one-sided it could be a kidney stone. A bit of blood in the stool might be unrelated, though the timing is suspicious - have you been straining on the toilet? Do you have any hemorrhoid symptoms? Have you made an urgent appointment to see your doctor?
