Just wondering if anyone out there has never burped in their life?
I’ve had ileoanal anastomosis since 1988. I’ve developed problems with a chronic fissure. Also, I’ve been diagnosed with Retrograde Cricopharyngeal dysfunction (a newly discovered “disorder” that basically means lots of gas builds up in your body because you can’t burp, and never have burped ever)  I think my fissure and the R-CPD may be connected. My first Botox treatment for R-CPD didn’t work. Going in for more soon. I know it’s rare, but I just wondered if anyone here has any experience? This is a swallow study that shows how the cricopharyngeal muscle is pushing in on my esophagus, you can’t see the muscle, but you can see the indent. It’s a pretty miserable disorder, frequently misdiagnosed as IBS. Discovered in 2019. IMG_8570
