Finally after waiting for ever, I recently had a scope of the small intestines..i'm guessing it was my j-pouch and only a small part of the small intestines. They found no polyps but I was told they did take a biopsy of the anastamosis. Is that routine or would the doctor do that if there was something he did not like. I was told every went well but I keep thinking about the biopsy. Am I just being paranoid. I go back on the 14th but just want to see if this was routine.

Some of us are probe to inflammation at the anastomoses. As Jan indicated, biopsies are pretty routine because most of us still have a very small segment of rectal cuff left
(anastomoses) where pouch is attached to. Doctors like to keep an eye on this area in the event a biopsy shows dysphasia ( pre cancer). I am sure you have nothing to worry about if you are feeling well and routine scope.
