@CTBarrister  My surgeon said that I've got to much inflammation and scar tissue so he's not going to be able to do a strictureplasty procedure right now. I'm a little worried he might suggest that I go back to an ostomy.

I've started a herbal regiment (Ayurveda) this has been practiced for thousands of years. This tea is suppose to help eliminate my inflammation and my pain. I'll keep you all posted.

@CTBarrister thanks for keeping us updated on your progress. This Thursday I'm going into surgery to see if I can have my stricture (outlet) dilated. It's so helpful to read about your journey so I can ask the right questions when I'm in. As you can see from my signature, similar age of pouch. I have also been experiencing iron-deficient anemia and getting the occasional transfusion.

How are things going for you now?

Hi Jen,

Since my last dilation on January 5, 2022 I am doing OK. While there haven't been any blockages and there is no evidence that the J Pouch inlet has closed up since the last dilation, there has been some overall slippage in my pouch function. My annual pouchoscopy is now scheduled on June 6, and my GI Dr. Brand is concerned that there has been some deterioration of the control over the pouch inflammation. When I was scoped last July the inflammation was primarily at the strictured inlet area and not the J Pouch proper, and he wants to see what things look like now. I had been on Vancomycin which didn't seem to be helping things, along with the Remicade. I should note things are not terrible but I am having some occasional spotting and my BMs are occasionally watery. I have taken Pepto Bismol at night as needed and it's been effective.

I wish you the best with your upcoming dilation! Let us know how it goes.

BTW my blood labs came back last week and all is excellent including my iron level. The only issue spotted on my labs nutritionally in past years was low vitamin D, and that was addressed with supplements.

The fact that you ate this makes it by far the most encouraging post I've seen on this site to date!  How far do they deliver?

AMB- I am not sure. They are now running an online ordering service. Which is frozen uncooked pies, 3 for like $95. Check here or their website:

Those pizzerias (Sally's, Pepe's, Modern) are all a 10 minute drive from where I live, so I eat there somewhat regularly.  But I can eat New Haven pizza and almost anything else. My birthday dinner was Saturday night and it was celebrated at September in Bangkok, probably the best Thai restaurant in New Haven, where I ordered Sea Scallops, served in a green curry coconut milk sauce with Kaffir, Japanese Baby Eggplant, Cauliflower, String Beans, Bell Peppers and Carrots. I had the leftovers for dinner tonight:

OMG, I couldn't eat that at all right now so that's the goal - being able to eat something like this!
