Mads,
I am no doctor so I won't pretend to know the exact terminlogy but...when you cut into the body it creates scar tissue...some people create more than others..."What are abdominal adhesions?
Abdominal adhesions are bands of tissue that form between abdominal tissues and organs. Normally, internal tissues and organs have slippery surfaces, which allow them to shift easily as the body moves. Adhesions cause tissues and organs to stick together." So that is the quote that I found on a medical site...they look like thick spiderwebs glueing themselves to the organs and other tissue...what then happens is things start to get gummed up in there and no longer more around easily with your body and its functions (digestion requires a parastoltic rythem that has your Stomach/intestinal wall contracting and relaxing to push things along..if they are glued and stuck with adhesions these process cannot be properly accomplished and can cause pain, blockages etc...but other organs can have problems too like the uterus or just about any other spot inside of you)Some people get away with few or none while others seem to create veritable balls of wool in there (my doctor's term) and the more they go in to cut them out (release them) the more the body recreates...a painful and vicious cycle.
I hope that this helps to explain it a bit for you...
Sharon
