I am scheduled to have a prostate biopsy performed Oct 31. I have a J-pouch and I need to know if anyone has ever had the procedure done who also has the j-pouch.

I think if you do a search there are a number of members who have had prostate biopsies. It is safe, as a very small needle is used.

I have a BCIR, so a biopsy was done via transperineal. A in office procedure done with patient asleep. Some blood in urine as a side effect for a couple of days.

After meeting with my doctor this morning he decided to do the same procedure you are referring too in the very near future. I was relieved that he will be doing the same procedure as you Ray. He had never performed a prostate biopsy on someone with a j-porch. Thanks for the advice from you and Jan.
