This morning my JPouch prolapsed. I’m 9 months post op, and I know it’s from me straining when on the toilet. Anyone have advice?
this might be a stupid question but can this resolve itself?

I don’t think a pouch prolapse fixes itself - it’s generally a surgical repair, at least if it’s a full-thickness prolapse. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, and I hope it doesn’t give you too much trouble. While you’re waiting for an appointment with your surgeon the same advice for preventing a prolapse applies: keep your stool soft, and when on the toilet patiently relax the muscles holding in the stool, rather than using lots of pressure to push it out. If you run into serious problems trying to empty your pouch you can use a catheter, but this is sometimes a struggle, too. Good luck!

To help prevent straining in the future, I recommend: Drinking water before during and after every meal. Ever since I have been doing that, it has made a world of difference in my pouch life
Thanks guy, I didn’t go to my family doctor and ask for a referral to my old GI , I haven’t had anyone following me for a few years now. It happened that morning (i was able to just push it back in) then hasn’t happened again since , I’ve been very careful not to strain at all.

I do not recommend not going to a doctor for years. We should be getting out pouch checked every year or every 3 years if your not having any problems. I confirmed this with many doctors.
