Does anyone find that sports drinks like Powerade or Gatorade irritate your pouch? - or anything else? Today I've been having these annoying uncomfortable sensations in my pouch, mostly in the area where it was connected. It's not really painful; I think throbbing would be the best way to describe it. It seems to reflect forward into by bladder and vagina a little. Usually this happens when my pouch gets irritated from pooping to much, which happens when I haven't taken enough Meta Mucil. But I have had enough today. Last time I felt like this, was when I drank an entire bottle of pomegranate cherry Powerade. So I'm wondering if that's what it is. I just drank another entire bottle of that stuff last night. Whenever I drink Powerade, it makes my throat itch and makes me cough. So I wonder if I'm maybe it's also irritating my pouch? Maybe I'm a little allergic to it? And if that's the case, what's a good alternative drink, to get the vitamins and electrolytes?

Hi Melissa sorry to hear that your experiencing this ... I was drinking Powerade and Gatorade since my takedown and I noticed from the beginning I would having way too many BMs then I realized the amount of sugar that was in regular Powerade and Gatorade so I switched to G2 Gatorade and Powerade Zero are try to stay away from dark colored ones I do orange and lemon lime .. And I drink it everyday and I mean everyday even with breakfast lunch and dinner knock on wood no problems so try to stay away from drinks with a lot of sugar and you'll probably see a difference soon hopefully... Take care hope I've shaded some light of this

I drink a lot of coconut water. My Dr said it is the easiest way to get electrolytes fast- in fact in the past during war time, they have been able to do a direct IV of coconut water when they run out of fluids. Its that absorbable. I had to get used to the taste - I dont hate it I dont love it - but as long as its super cold I can get it down. That and water is all I drink now and Ive been able to keep my electrolytes in check.
