Just thought I'd share my experience of the birth of my son. He is my second child, I was diagnosed with UC in 2011 while pregnant with my daughter . I had my takedown in October 2012 and found out I was pregnant in June 2014 after trying for 4 months. I decided from the start that I was having this baby vaginally, and with no pain meds. I didn't want to have a c section and recover from another surgery. My pregnancy was perfect, and at 38 weeks, baby decided he was ready. My labor started with mild cramping the evening of February 1. At 1 am contractions got stronger. At 5 am, we headed to the hospital. I was 6 cm dilated. At 10:15 am, I delivered a healthy 7 lb 4 oz baby boy. 100% natural, no drugs and vaginally. I did have 2nd degree tearing which healed completely in a couple weeks. My bm's were fine until about a week ago when I started having symptoms of pouchitis, which is being treated and the antibiotics I was given have finally started working. I couldn't have imagined a better outcome for this birth. I just wanted to share my story in case any other ladies were wondering about vaginal delivery. Oh and I didn't have any issues with my pouch during the delivery, just seriously felt like he was coming out of my bum! Haha. I attached a picture of him as well, he's 2 days old in it
