So, have any of you found night time incontinence an issue in pregnancy? I'm 32 weeks and this has all of a sudden become an issue. I do have chronic pouchitis and take flagyl but I don't have any other symptoms. Hoping this won't last long :/

hang in there...you're almost there! i didn't have incontinence issues, but major increase in frequency toward the end. i was up several times at night to use the bathroom. i know you don't really have too many options in terms of meds to rotate to help with the pouchitis so i can't really offer any advice. however, if you find that you just need help getting some sleep, i strongly advise taking 1/2 a tablet of unisom. it helped me to sleep through some of my urges to have to have to go since i'm such a light sleeper. without it, i don't think i would have gotten any sleep the last trimester.
how much longer do you have to go? have you discussed a date yet?

It's normal. Baby takes up a lot of room and is squishing the pouch. if you are having leakage at night, no shame in some pads or adult diapers until that kid is out. I always woke up to go (frequently) but if you are a more sound sleeper than that, just catch the leaks and don't worry about it.
clz- I've only got 7 weeks left we're scheduling a c-section for April 15th!! Did you get my message a few weeks back???
oh, i totally missed your reply somehow! hooray on the baby girl...so fun!! glad you've made it to this point feeling pretty good most of the way. hope you can get some rest and relief over the next few weeks...you will surely need it ;-)
Congrats!
Same for me, I'm 31 weeks pregnant and missing my loperamide desperately! I usually manage to rush to the bathroom a couple of times at night, but do have the occasional accident. I'm not getting upset about it though, I wear a pad and sleep on a towel and figure it will all be worth it in the end when my baby boy finally turns up!

Sarahbp55,
Congrats on your pregnancy! Why are you missing loperamide? i was told it was completely safe during pregnancy?

I was taking upto 8 a day and my consultant said that there have been no trials on loperamide in pregnancy. Tbh I think it is highly unlikely loperamide would cause any issues with baby but because I am also taking a maintenance dose of antibiotics throughout the pregnancy I would have felt bad taking loperamide as well x
My understanding with the loperamide was as Sarah said...there is not sufficient data to deem it safe or unsafe. While it was a category "B" according to my OB, my GI said in his book, it came up as a category "C" for pregnancy. The more I looked into it, depending on who was writing the guideline, it was both B and C. I chose not to take it due to the lack of information out there, but my OB didn't seem at all worried.
My high risk OB was fine with me taking immodium, but like you I chose not to take it.
Congrats on the baby girl! My son is 7 and my daughter 4 1/2 and they are such a blessing. Enjoy this last month as much as you can. Go see every movie and eat out - it'll be the lastmovieand HOT meal out you'll have for a while!

JillM, Great advice!! LOL!
Just saw my GI and he prescribed Cortifoam for my fissures and spasms. Do any of you know about it's safety in pregnancy or had any experience with these types of meds?
