Praying for you Eric

Eric I pray your surgery was a success and you are recovering well.

Here's what Freddy posted on facebook:

"Hi everyone, for those in Eric's pouch club, the doctor was not able to save his k-pouch, he now has an ileostomy bag (I don't know if this is good or bad)."

He's also in a lot of pain and the painkillers aren't working. Hopefully this all resolves very, very soon.

I am so sorry...and pissed. I know how much he wanted to be able to keep his k pouch...Darn it!
There must have been a lot of damage for Dr C to have to remove it completely...I know that it is so rare for him to give up on a pouch or patient...

I am so, so sorry...If you read this, I hope that you heal quickly, get out of there and get your life back on track...It is time to be happy again.

HI all I poped in to see Eric yesterday (Fri) he was Coherent,awake, bitchy but in great spirits. he was 24 hours out of the Or he had a young student nurse fussing over him. He was a bit down on getting the bag back but was looking foward to getting back to work.

Freddy posted on facebook and said he's getting better. And he posted a photo of Eric's arm holding a lovely purple teddybear. So at least Eric has someone to keep him company when Freddy's not there.

Hey, I just noticed this post, thanks everyone, you're the best, and you'll be happy to know I'm actually really happy! I love my ileostomy!!!! It's working so well, and I feel so much better, I'm kind of kicking myself for not getting it done sooner, what was I so afraid of? You guys were right, it's way better then the K pouch, and to answer your question, Dr Cohen couldn't save the pouch or repair the valve because of multiple adhesion from all those previous surgeries. He was forced to remove not only the pouch, but several more inches of small bowel, that were, due to said adhesions, essentially dead. Meah, intestines are highly over rated, who needs them???? Lol! Thanks again guys, you are all my family,
