I have had my jpouch 6+ years now. Very happy w/ it-few problems, if any. I had what I think was a bout of pouchitis back in May. It was treated w/ Flagyl & Cipro. Went away and seemed to come back again in July. Went to another doc-same treatment. Came back again in Sept, or at least symptoms appeared again (cramping, not fully emptying) and this time I went to my surgeon ans asked for pouchoscopy because I was due anyway (it's been 2 years) and I wanted to confirm if pouch was actually inflamed or not. Doc said pouch looked healthy. He took biopsies which we're still waiting on the results. Had pouchoscopy 8 days ago. Here's the problem-I have had crampy pains when food passed through me since procedure. I've had enough of these types of procedures to understand that after biopsies are snipped out, it hurts for a few days. A few days though, not this long after. Biggest issue is I'm still very gassy. Blown up after most meals. I s/w docs nurse twice and she said biopsies are not back yet and doc said to take acidophilus to help w/ gas as if I didn't already know that! I'm concerned that the gas pains are so intense and that I'm still cramping this long after. Doc seems relaxed about it, Not sure why they are still waiting for results from biopsies-I thought all looked healthy. I have been eating a regular diet post-op-I'm thinking may be I should have gone easier on my insides to allow biopsies cut to heal. Any advice? Do you think something's up or is this somewhat normal?
Thanks,
