Hello. I had my J Pouch years ago, but when I had the pouch scoped the prep caused terrible pain and I then got pouchitis. Has anyone else had problems with having pouchoscopy and is there another way to check things out? Thanks.
Pouchoscopies can be done with a very small prep. Many of us just don't eat after dinner the day before, and do a couple of tap water enemas before the procedure.
Often the office staff doesn't know what a pouchoscopy is, and no specific prep has been written up, so they just hand out what they have. My GI only has a few J-pouch patients, but he *talks to me*.
