Hello Everyone,
I suffered from UC for three years till I had to make a decision to undergo surgery. I went through TC three years back. I from my own experience, extensive research and travel have found ways to keep Pouchitis in check.
There are three things you need to really take seriously:
1) Food
2) Life Style
3) Exercise
I eat pretty much everything except junk food, live a stress free life and introduced little exercise. In food, it's important to add foods rich in probiotic and fermented products, which are rich in beneficial bacteria. I have found in east people who don't suffer from IBD's have simple diet, no processed foods, junk, and fermented foods. Another important thing I added was Yoga. I went through six months extensive Yoga course in India, which I do religiously. I follow Shivananda Yoga school (which does not involve any complex and difficult postures).
It's hard to put details here on the forum, can take one full book. If anyone wants any guidance or more details, please feel free to inbox me. I live in San Jose and can even meet in person if you like. I am doing this just to do my part being the person who has suffered with UC and surgery.
