I have a continent pouch. In all the years, I've had pouchitis one time and not with the usual symptoms. So this is the deal, 1 1/2 years ago I was nauseous and yucky. I was eating yogurt for breakfast most mornings so I gave it up along with all other dairy and got tested for Celiac(neg). I was doing better. Since September , about 10:00am the symptoms begin. I eat breakfast, which varies, at 8. The symptoms can last all day. Some days are better than others. I don't feel this way on days that I am not working. My eating habits are different on the weekends and life is slower paced.
Anyway, I finally say the GI, who told me to change my vitamins to pm (iron) and put me on Flagyl suspecting pouchitis.
Now my question, she would like to scope the pouch 2 weeks (granted, she is on vacation) after I am done with the Flagyl to check it out.
If I still have the problem I can see it, but give me a reason to do it otherwise if the meds resolve the issue.
