Need some advise, I have had pouchitis in the past and my symptoms feel like I have UC again, cramping, frequency, urgency, sometimes bleeding.  I started having these symptoms and called my Dr. and the put me on antibiotics.  These symptoms started to get better but still having some bleeding and pressure like pain in my tailbone area.  back to going to bathroom normal amount but feel like I need to strain to go.  Any thoughts what might be going on?  they just started me on Canasa too about 3 days ago but haven't seen any improvements yet.

It's still possible that this could be pouchitis, and either the antibiotic is taking a bit longer to kick in, or that particular antibiotic isn't working this time. There are other possibilities, though. Have you had a pouchoscopy recently? Your doctor might be able to see what's going on (e.g. you might have a stricture). Good luck!

Hi.  Sorry to hear about your troubles.  Has your Dr. Ever tested you for C. Diff infections?  They really did a number on me before my pouch.  They caused nasty smells with me.  Just wanted to put that out there just in case.  The symptoms are similar to pouchitis...pain, diarrhea, bleeding, etc.  Mine went undiagnosed for two months.  It was like night and day when I got rid of it.  Good luck.  I hop you improve very soon!
