I've had my pouch since Oct. Went through the C. Diff and infected wounds, all the fun stuff. I thought I had turned a corner in December and was finally able to feel "okay" leaving the house for an hour or so at a time, but symptoms came back with a vengeance as soon as I was off the metronidazole (which I thought was being used to treat my C. Diff?). I did have an endoscopy done in December that determined I had cuffitis. Salofalk was prescribed as well as the metronidazole & probiotics. When the metronidazole treatment course was done the second time, symptoms came back yet again and I am once again confined to my bathroom and in a lot of rectal (and mental) pain.

I am hoping for some advice about how to approach my doctors regarding this trouble. I understand how important it is to be a director of my own health and I'm frustrated with the lack of help I'm currently getting from my GI and Surgeon. Maybe I don't have cuffitis? I have bleeding and pain, feeling of not having gone enough, huge sense of urgency all the time, and general discomfort, some cramping. Of course I never sleep through the night because I'm up using the bathroom and all of the sleeping pills I take don't seem to work. Frowner I am exhausted both physically and mentally.
