From my own experience as well as hearing the same from many others in this group, I would stay away from sugar and alcohol and cook your veggies.  Dairy and wheat can also be problematic. 

Well-cooked quick oats help soothe my guts.  Soluble fibers are good, as long as they are finely ground, like (organic-best) psyllium powder.  100% pure aloe (without citrus) helps me with inflammation.  They say avoid caffeine for general gut health, but I haven't managed to make it there.  I will have some time to myself to experiment with caffeine's effects this summer.  I will share what I find.

Sorry you got pouchitis.  I get inflammation and aches in the pouch area (vague pressure, feels like the pouch is irritated by holding just a little bit of waste and wants to be emptied more frequently) but I'm never sure if it is pouchitis.  I never take antibiotics, as they tend to cause long-term, systemic issues for me, but I wouldn't say no to them if I thought I had a full on infection.  The discomfort comes and goes-it moves around my guts evasively, like a ghost, and sometimes disappears completely.  What does actual pouchitis feel like?
