this is my first time with pouchitis and i'm wondering if others who have had it experienced cramping and/or what other symptoms you may have had...thanks,
Definitly cramping!! Sometimes I cant stand up strait at all. And sometimes it comes out of nowhere and drops me to the ground. I have had constant pouchitis since my takedown in 2003. I also get extremely fatigued out of nowhere. My job is extremely physical. So it makes life alittle frustrating. I guess ever part of all this make life alittle frustrating though. Good Luck
thank you for the info--the cramping is pretty bad, it doesn't let up whereas my UC cramps would come and go and were more tolerable. tylenol isn't doing the trick--any suggestions?...michelle
Antibiotics -cipro and flagyl are 1st line antibiotics for pouchitis treatment, xifaxin and augmentin second line. There are others as well. All of them work for me.
Cipro is what works for me. In addition to cramping, I experience what seems like a very sensitive pouch - a small(er) quantity of content creates an urge to go.
