So... over the weekend I had a really rough time with my j-pouch. I felt incredibly fatigued, my frequency just about doubled (~12/day), and I had a lot of spasming and urgency. I pretty much felt like I had to go constantly, but managed to stay off the toilet for an hour or two at a time.
In any case, I was all set to contact my GI today to talk about pouchitis or a C. diff recurrence, but today, like magic, I feel completely back to normal. No urgency, on track for ~6/day, no spasms, etc.
I'm thinking it's most likely that I had a 48 hour stomach bug. However, I also started jogging outside again last week, and I'm wondering if it's possible that the exertion from the exercise OR exposure to pollen (there's a TON of it here) could have triggered the pouch symptoms? I didn't exercise at all over the weekend and I stayed mostly indoors, too.
Any thoughts? I know most of the time it's impossible to tell with this stuff, just curious if anyone else has ever found that exercise or allergens could trigger pouchitis type symptoms.
