Did you get tested for C diff? It's easy to pick up in a hospital. In any case it sounds like you still have some form of pouchitis.

I agree. A sudden case of "food poisoning" in the hospital, improvement followed by relapse after antibiotics, all point to pouchitis, and C. diff is especially a suspect. I'd get a C. diff PCR test before another round of antibiotics, just to be safe, especially if you are going to take Cipro again.

Does not sound like pouchitis. Maybe hospital picked up c diff or a stomach bug or E. coli. I had a stomach bug for 10 days. If was scary and sounds like what your going thru. 

I am so sorry this is happening to you, after 12 years without any pouchitis. Please let us know how you are. I hope you get back to normal soon. That is scary!

Thank you so much everyone. I did do a stool sample to test for c-diff (waiting for results) and doc put me back on cipro and Flagyl again, 500 mg each 2x/day for 20 days. 5 days into 2nd round, still feeling punk, think maybe the antibotics are making me nauseated.  Have call in for Zofran.  (Trying to get this nonsense under control while enjoying my vacation camping "up north") I am a bit concerned to be on this load of antibotics for this long, not been through this either. 

It's most likely that just one of the antioibiotics is making you feel lousy, and the other is just fine. But if they aren't working, it might be time to try another. I've been on Cipro and Flagyl for a few years, so the long term thing seems to be okay ***if*** you tolerate them.
