Looking for some help please... I had surgery for my j pouch take down 10 days ago.  I came home after 5 days in the hospital and am still experiencing extreme nausea ( have thrown up a few times), watery output and am unable eat much of anything and am  having trouble sleeping. I'm trying to sty hydrated. I have lost more weight since I've been home although that seems to have stabilized now. Any suggestions of what might be causing the nausea?

Could be dehydration. Once you are dehydrated, it's very hard to catch up without an IV.

Just had knee replacement surgery, and ended up in the ER 8 weeks later with dehydration and pouchitis. One dr told me anesthesia drys up your electrolytes. After 3 days of IV,s, i still have the nausea. If you google dehydration, insomnia is also a symptom.

good luck, hope you feel better.
