Hey folks

I’ll be 5 months post rectum removal/stump removal (I had a long5 cm rectal cuff) on September 17.

I was eating my lunch around 3 this afternoon and I found out I pooped on my pad without feeling I did so and after the meal had an urge/sensation to go defacate /poop to find a stream of brown on my pad going from my front oriface  to my anus on the rectal pad

So is anyone kind of fresh or years post rectal mucosectomy and still pooping themself ?  I’m 5 months out is this still  to be expected and can improve?

I am not actively doing Kagels but learned them early on

the pooping self happens at random times and I don’t feel it?

anyone relate? Will this improve?

I have pretty good control but at times I leak poop and have diarrhea that causes me another uti from leaking from my front oriface as a result of the poop traveling backwards..:

kind of needed to unload / vent here as well

thanks for any feedback guys

Pouchomarx,

I appreciate your response and you taking the moment to share that you are in a similar predicament

I went out from morning till 2 again today only to come home to a pooped up pad in my Briefs

I have not experimented with psyllium ever and don’t know if the water cookies would do anything

i too just deal but it would ibe humiliating if I had a partner

I was given notice or rather a heads up prior to rectal stump/cuff excision use to the threat of rectal dysplasia / I have familial polyposis syndrome…that leakage could be an issue at times w/o feeling like you actually pooped, it just occurs when it does

I am not sure if I want to stuff my bottom with cotton balls or anything else but I wear an extra long pad in briefs from durable medical supply company I get through Medicare and Medicaid as a beneficiary covered
