Hi folks
I am scared of getting this 'butt burn' please could someone share their secrets and recommend a really good barrier cream or whatever, will be having pouch surgery soon and sooooo scared of this awful butt burn that everyone talks about thank you!!

Have you tried Calmoseptine? I use this product.
I found Calmoseptine stronger than I liked. I completely avoided butt burn by using plain old zinc oxide *after* every BM, to protect the skin against the next one. After a while I switched to a relatively unknown product called "Ferguson Formula." And I haven't needed any of it in years.
I've said it before, I'll say it again - Orabase Protective Paste is by far and away the best barrier that exists. I'm a veteran at this, and willing to pull rank to make a point. (My pouch is 35 years old, anyone here older?)
Barrier cream is a must after every time! I like Bepanthen. But if the burn really strikes, I opt for a cotton bud with a little lidocaine cream on it.. Pop it up there and you'll be instantly comfortable again

Bag balm used on cow udders and can be bought at Walgreens works wonders. Been using it for years. No burning and heals any irrritation within a couple of hours. Has been a lifesaver.
