I doubt this is an appropriate topic so I'll delete it after a while, I just don't know who else to ask... But are there any golfers out there by any chance?

I'm curious on whether swinging a golf club would be easy on the area where my stoma once was. I don't wanna pull anything that will cause a lot of pain..

no sure mate, but personally I've been told I have no restrictions.  Im planning on doing a 'ninja warrior' style assault course and tough mudders.  Doc said fine.  Apparently im at a greater risk of hernia lifting heavy weights, but because I was laparoscopic even that risk is minimised.

Probably best to check, but id be surprised if the doc said 'no restrictions...apart from golf' lol

Don't delete your post, it's relavant to yourself and maybe it will help a forum member in the future.

I had open surgery to remove my colon and on and off, l've attempted to stay in shape and keep a healthy weight but my energy level just wasn't there.

Since the creation of my J pouch and takedown, as of yet, other than walking, I've not even thought about exercise.

To Todd's point, I don't even keep score.  Enjoy the game a lot more.

Take down was in November so probably didn't play for about 6 months.  Took it easy at first, but ask your surgeon ... they should really be the point of contact in case there was something about your surgery that was particular to you.

Big picture -- very glad I did the surgery.  Physically never had a limitation.  Diet wise, I drink & eat whatever I want.  Sure I have consequences sometimes, but I believe that our system is a lot more resilient than folks think.

Best!
