I've had my j-pouch for 15 years with few issues besides butt burn and occasional pouchitis. Several days ago I began to have severe pressure, pain and swelling near the anal area. It hurts so bad I can't sit, walk or move without pain. It's constant. I went to the ER the day before yesterday and a CT showed a small perianal abscess. They gave me some antibiotics and told me to follow up with a surgeon in 1-2 days. The soonest I can get in is Wednesday and they told me to go back to the ER but I don't want to do that just yet. I just wish I could get in sooner to get a consultation. I am now constipated and hardly able to evacuate anything at all which with a j-pouch is totally abnormal. What should I do?

Also, does anyone know if frequent butt burn makes you more susceptible to an abscess? I've been doing the keto diet lately and it's aggravated some serious chronic butt burn so I wonder if it's related.
