don't know if you're a guy or girl. But I'm a chic and I sit on toilet and empty between my legs.

Not a weird question at all!

I sit on the toilet and empty between my legs. I do angle the bag a bit when applying so, when the stool comes through, it goes into the toilet easily without leg interference.

Do some experimenting and you'll find what works for you!

I'm a guy and I sit as far back on the toilet seat as possible. I also use an open ended elongated toilet seat for more room.

I used to sit and empty between my legs and still do in some situations but now at home or where I am comfident that the floor is clean I will often kneel on one knee infront of the toilet to empty. Its much quicker. It may not work that well for everyone but worth a try.

Immediately post-op my bum was a little sore so I got into the habit of kneeling in front of the toilet to empty. Away from home I sit on the toilet and empty between my legs. I find angling the bag a little to the left (my stoma's on my right side) helps me to empty either way I do it. Good luck!

for me it depends on toilet,at home i have a shower stool adjusted to height of toilet,public sit and empty

totally not a weird question. I was very fortunate for a nurse aide after my very first surgery who showed me this trick. All the other nurses were having me stand or kneel... but this for me.. is just so easy, fast, and "cleanest" way.

You have totally made me have a think (or rethink)because, to be honest - I am not very good at all at emptying my appliance - I stand up, and I forever misjudge

I have been pulling my pants down, sitting on the toilet like I was peeing and empty my bag and always emptied my bladder since I was sitting there anyway. A few days ago I had an epiphany and sat on the toilet facing the tank without pulling my pants down and just emptied my bag. It is so much quicker and easier for me now. The other way I would have to pull my pants way down and if they were skinny jeans, had to really work at it to get my pants low enough to get the job done.

OK All, so here I was thinking that my butt must be REALLY large because I just couldn't get the right amount of space to cleanly empty my bag if sitting on the toilet.

Then I realised the problem is not with my booty, but my toilet is kind of round and small. I used a public toilet which was shaped kind of like an oval and there was so much more room!

And for those with a sense of humor, "Does this toilet make my butt look big?" Hehehe.

As I said above, I discovered I can empty without pulling my pants down by facing the toilet tank. Well, I was at a restaurant last night and I did my duty and then had to reach backwards to get the tp which is now behind me because of my position. It was a smaller toilet than mine at home and it was a bit of a reach and when I did, I fell right off of the toilet and onto the floor. I started laughing because what else could I do. It was funny but I was glad that it was a one toilet bathroom.
