Has anyone out there had to do pelvic floor therapy yet? If so has it helped with your pain at all and how invasive/uncomfortable was it?

I was just told yesterday that I have severe levator spasms.. guess like a massive charley horse "up inside". And told I needed to get pelvic floor therapy immediately. Just yet one more thing to deal with. After my doc explained it to me, it leads me to believe that a lot of the pain I've been experiencing could be from this. So that part of it is good news. Bad part is... sounds like pretty "invasive" therapy.

I was told this is often a problem with people that have undergone many many surgeries and other procedures in the pelvic floor region. My doc said that with all the jpouch surgeries, dilations, jpouch removal surgery, and ongoing EUA surgeries for the chronic wound ... that she is not suprised that things are in "such a bad state" there.

So if anyone has gone through this or knows more about it, I'd appreciate the input. And Jan, any concerns about them doing this with the chronic wound issue? My urogyn didn't seem to think it was a problem. She thought it more important I start to get this therapy right away.
