( I have posted a couple of days ago.)

I have had a K-pouch since 1976. Dr. Joel Bauer in NYC.
A few days ago I began having what feels like little spasms in the pouch area. They last for a few moments and I may not experience any more, for a few hours later. I have no cramps. No nausea. Pouch yields stool when I intubate. None of the classic symptoms of a partial blockage.

Dr. Bauer says I may still have a partial obstruction. And if it does not soon clear up - he wants me to get a ct-scan or x-rays.

I would feel kind of silly going to the hospital and asking for a ct scan because I have some twitching in my abdomen.

Any comments? Any K-pouchers who have had this? Or, have you had the more classic symptoms of a partial
obstruction?

Thanks in advance.
Bodoni,
With age (and maybe the age of my pouch?) I have started having partial obstructions (first began in 2007 post op with ileus and then full blown obstructions)...maybe I have a kink up somewhere in the small intestine (always in the same spot) or a partial stricture but generally it clears itself up in a couple of days...linked to fiber my input?...I go on a hot liquid diet (tea, soup, broth...) for a day or two and do some gentle yoga exercise to try to 'stretch it out'...
I tend to get a pouch 'twist' or 'torsion' because my pouch is not anchored down, it hangs on by the stoma (potentially dangerous and will get it fixed next summer); those are very uncomfortable, I get labour-like spasms and have to liquid fast until it resolves...they can see the tortion on a CT scan or with the opacification of my pouch (the French surgeon saw it during the last 3 laporoscopic surgeries but didn't dare fix it without Dr C's instructions)...
So those are things that I would have them check for, stricture, kink and pouch torsion or twist...definetly fixable without open surgery...I hope that it is just a minor problem and that it passes without incident for you.
