I had my take down surgery in December of 2005. Over the years I have experienced many different things, but nothing like this.
This morning I noticed quite a bit of discomfort while cleaning myself after going to the bathroom and when I was taking a shower it felt like there lump sticking out of my anus (pea-sized). I was hoping the pain would subside, so I didn't bother to call the doctor and my GP only works half a day on Fridays.
I'm not sure what to do. The pain has not gotten any better over the day, as a matter of fact it has gotten worse. I tried some Prep H, wondering if it might be a hemorrhoid (which I have never had before).
Does anybody have any suggestions and/or recommendations?

Irritation can cause inflammation which makes the folds of the anus swell up and feel like a pea.

After my take-down, my doctor looked at my backside and said, "that's one sore ass-hole." That is a direct quote. LOL.

He enlightened me to the miracle of Calmoseptine and plain-water washing. (I was using soapy water, which was increasing irritation.) I now use a coco bidet.

I'm not saying that is what is happening with you, but it's a possibility. It happened to me.
