I have pain at a center point below my solar plexus and circling my torso below my rib cage. It seems worse after a flare of intestinal distress with excessive gas and straining to empty my pouch. My Mayo docs have diagnosed me with pouchitis, ileitis and a fistula which was sealed and clipped. (I think the tunnel is from the tip of the short arm of the j pouch to the anus) After a round of cipro and flagyl, I am feeling generally better and am hopeful that the fistula is healing. But I am wondering about the upper pain I experience. Has anyone had this and what was the cause? Is it the ileitis? Is it pooling at the inlet and muscle strain? Any thoughts would be helpful.
