hello all, I am currently having my second part of procedure on Tuesday the 27th. My surgeon is out of town, I don't want to ask for any pain meds from a doctor on call when my surgery is in 3 days.. with that being said at night time I have been in horrific pain and have debated several times going to the ER.. if it gets to that point what should I do.. I doubt they will do early surgery since it's not life threatening but it hurts so bad...and I don't wanna look weird or dumb going to the ER a day or two before my surgery..and I really don't want them to postpone my surgery in the case I do go to the ER...which I don't think they would do but still. It's also worth nothing my insurance pays for 100% everything until 2017.

Gee, have you spoken to your surgeon about this pain? It does not sound typical. I definitely would be in contact with the on call guy. You say you don't want to interfere with the schedule of your upcoming surgery, but not reporting significant symptoms could do just that. Sometime what you withhold is more important than what you say. Let the surgeons decide what is going on. Severe pain is a symptom that needs reporting.
