My daughter asked me to post. She had a pouchoscopy with anesthesia 10 days ago and was due for her period 10 days ago also. She has had an increase in abdominal and pelvic pain since the scope (had abdominal pain prior to scope). The abdominal pain is slowly getting better, but she still has pelvic pain and still no period. She is not pregnant and her GYN says to wait another week before she would try to bring her period on with hormones.

Has anyone had an increase in abdominal pain after a scope? Her surgeon said the pouch and above looked good so we don't understand why her pain increased, so she is waiting on a reply.

As far as her period, maybe the anesthesia is delaying it? But why the increase in pelvic pain?

Thank you.

Just a guess, but I would suspect that the scoping could add extra irritation to an area that was already engorged and primed for pain. Could even be a leftover ovarian cyst from a prior cycle that was swelling again from her current hormonal phase.

Any recent weight loss? That could delay or skip a period too.
