I have had occasional discomfort behind the closed (for 6 years) ostomy site. It's becoming more frequent and has moved from discomfort to pain.  It's very painful when I move, twist, bend etc. My doctor has suggested it might be an entrapped nerve. But I wonder why it would be getting worse now. Any experience shared from others would be appreciated.

Just a thought, but I think it's possible for a bowel to get a twist or kink in it, at the site of an adhesion.  I suppose the section of bowel that was previously a stoma might be a bit more susceptible to this, and that this could happen at any time after surgery due to the bowel moving about. This is a fairly uneducated guess, though.
