I had j-pouch surgery May 2012 and takedown of my ileostomy in July 2012. I have done incredibly well with only minor complications. I returned to jogging and exercising regularly, and I have been able to eat pretty much anything. However, over the last week or so, I have developed pain behind the site of my stoma. Initially, I felt fairly ill too, and I suspect I had a partial blockage. That seems to have resolved, but I continue to experience the pain behind the stoma. It persists as a dull, nagging soreness most of the time, but sometimes it is quite acute, particularly in the mornings. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I have pain there on and off all the time and think, in my case, there must be a narrowing in the part of my small intestine they "looped" for my temp ileo. Know one had told me this, just my overactive imagination/imaging. I also have adhesion pain there and other abdominal places. I've had 5 abdominal surgeries so had some adhesions going in for my j-pouch surgeries.

I have not been very active since my surgeries so I guess you might have pulled something in a weakened area that might just go away.

Congratulations on your recuperation!
