My husband is a little over four months post-takedown. He hasn't had any complications (knock on wood), just dealing with what seems to be perfectly normal. However, during the past week he's had what seems to be pretty bad pain at the site of his stoma. The worst of it happens at night when he's in bed, usually while sleeping. I'll wake to him moaning about it while he's half asleep. He only very rarely mentions that the site was aching a bit during the day. I've tried to read about adhesions and strictures but not sure if this happening at night would shed some light for someone with more experience.

He's up at least twice a night to hit the restroom or encounters leakage and hasn't had any blockages. Would really appreciate any advice! Thanks.

At four months, that site can still be a little tender. And given the adhesions that are probably there (even if they aren't causing any blockages), when he moves it pulls on the already-sore area. So I'm not that surprised. The pain around my stoma site has lessened over the years so I really don't notice it at all.
